I support the campaign to #StopTheFamilyFarmTax because it will:
- have devasting consequences for farming, the wider economy, employment and public finances
- result in reduction in investment of 16.5% in allied food and farming industries*
- reduce employment by 10%*
- decimate farming confidence
Family farms are the backbone of Britain. British farmers work everyday to produce great British food for the public, care for the environment, be at the heart of their rural communities and drive economic growth.
The proposed changes to APR (Agricultural Property Relief) and BPR (Business Property Relief) announced in the Autumn budget will decimate family farms across the country impacting not just them but the wider agri-food sector and allied industries.
This is bad policy based on incorrect data and announced with no consultation.
It stands to impact 75% of commercial family farms, for many it will be the final straw.
Add your name to ask the government to pause and consult on the policy and show them the strength of feeling and impact across the allied industries.
