Do you think that children should learn more about food and farming in schools?

Please show your support to ensure that British food and farming is represented fairly and accurately across the education system, by calling for the government to update the school curriculum.

Help us improve food and farming education in schools

We're calling for an updated school curriculum, so that children can learn more about British food, food security, nutrition, and the thousands of people it takes to produce and prepare their food.

What needs to happen?

We have two main asks of the government:

1.    Improve the quality of food education in school.
2.    Carry out an urgent review of GCSE Biology subject content to better reflect British food and farming.

What impact could this have?

This will empower children to make healthy choices, explore the breadth of career paths in food and farming and master life skills for the future.

What’s the backstory?

In 2024, the government launched a review of the curriculum and assessment system.

This review matters because it gives us the opportunity to shape the education system, to accurately reflect the high standards that British farmers work with and clearly distinguish between British and international farming practices.

What happens next?

The petition closes in September, and your support will help us lobby the Department for Education to update the curriculum to improve the quality of food education in schools.

How can I help?

Improved food education can last a lifetime. Add your name and let's make a change.
